Haruka Furusaka | ふるさかはるか

山の暮らしや手仕事の取材を通して耳にしたことば、読んだお話を元に木版画とドローイングで描くシリーズ。シリーズ全体を通して「身の回りの自然によってその自然から身を守る術」「自然から読み取るサイン」を表す「ことづて」に着目して取材をし、異なるテーマごとに作品とエッセイにまとめた。自然とともに生きる人びとの何気ないことばに息づく考察と、自然にある色・形と協調して作る私自身の作品とを、時代や地域、手法を超えて交差させようと試みている。

This is a series of woodblock prints and drawings based on what I heard from interviews on living in the mountains and the handwork associated with this lifestyle, and the stories I read. Throughout the whole series, the interviews were conducted with a focus on “protecting oneself from nature by using surrounding nature,” and “lore” that indicates “signs read from nature,” brought together into work and essays with different themes. Observations alive in the casual words of people who coexist with nature, and my work created by cooperating colors and shape existing in nature are an attempt to intersect beyond time, region, and technique.
