Whereabouts gravity goes

  • ExhibitionWoodblock Print
  • 2006-2007

I go to forest to smell earth.
I go to forest to imitate a tree,
and measure whereabouts its weight goes.
I change my weight for gravity released from my feet,
and listen to the echo from the depth of stratum.
As if the roots suck water,
I absorb the life of ground by my feet.

A woodblock absorbs watercolor.
I absorb the color into a paper by Baren.
The woodblock comes to life again with the color.
I exchange the breath of it and my weight while rubbing Baren.
As if I give the life of ground back
or pump out water from a bottomless well,
I print the color into the paper.
