Frozen Motion

絵の具は液体である
筆を使って直接絵の具を塗りつけてゆくと
たれたりにじんだり混ざったり
絵の具はずれて流動的に変化してゆく
版画の作業はコオリ的
版よって残されてゆく跡は
こおった色のかけらの様
厚みのない絵の具はこおってしまって動かない
paintingの絵の具が雨の雫のようならば
printingのそれは雪のように軽やか
ばれんと体の圧力で絵の具をこおらせるように写し取る
画面の上にその瞬間が積もってゆく

The colors just at work are liquid.
While I am brushing the colors on the canvas, 
they are moving fluidly,
dripping, permeating, and mixing.
Though printing process is like freezing ice.
The marks printed by plates are like pieces of frozen colors.
The thin-printed colors don’t move like they are frozen.
If the colors of painting were raindrops,
those of printing would be airy snowflakes.
I print them as if to freeze them, 
with the pressure of my weight through the Baren.
These same moments are layered on the picture.
