手仕事の時間
「木版画アトリエ空中山荘」は、木版画家・ふるさかはるかのアトリエの名前であり、ワークショップ・プロジェクトの名前でもあります。2010年、大阪の古い木造平屋のアトリエから空中山荘は始まりました。ちょっと浮世離れした山の中で過ごすように、作品を作る澄んだ時間を共に分け合ってもらえたらと思い、アトリエを「空中山荘」と名付けました。
教室では水彩木版画の基本を伝えつつ、生徒それぞれの持ち味を生かした作品づくりが皆さんの暮らしの愉しみや励みとなるよう心がけてきました。
About Kucyusansou
“Kucyusansou Woodblock Printmaking” is the name of Haruka Furusaka’s studio, and also the name of the workshop project. Kucyusansou started from a studio in an old wooden single-story house in Osaka in 2010. As I wanted to share the clarity of the time of creating artwork, like spending time in a slightly other-worldly mountain, I named the studio, “Kucyusansou” (Mountain Cottage in the Emptiness). While teaching the basics of watercolor woodblock print in the classroom, I have kept in mind that creating artwork imbued with the characteristics of each student may bring enjoyment and encouragement to their lives.
オンラインレッスン＆ガイドOnline Lesson & Learning Guide
立ち上げから10年を機に、オンラインレッスンを始めました。 教室のノウハウが詰まった オンラインレッスンガイドを使い 、講師が実演を交えてポイントをアドバイスします。木版画初心者の皆さんに向けた内容になります。
ポストカードづくりを体験するLesson1から、スタンダードな多色摺りを学ぶ Lesson 4まで、 4つの作品を作りながら初歩的な水彩木版画技法を段階的に学ぶことができます。Lesson 5では彫刻刀を長く大切に使うために、研ぎ方を解説します。

10 years from the foundation as an opportunity, Kucyusansou has started giving online lessons. Using an online learning guide with plenty of know-how in the classroom, I give advice on the points with demonstrations. The content is for the beginners of woodblock print.
You can gradually learn entry-level watercolor woodblock print techniques while creating four pieces of art from Lesson 1, in which postcard making is experienced, to Lesson 4, in which the standard multicolor woodblock print is explained. In Lesson 5, the sharpening method of a chisel is explained in order to use it for a prolonged period of time with care.

ミーティングレッスンMeeting Lesson
レッスンガイドを使った対面型レッスンです。オンラインレッスン＆教材では伝えきれないことを、実演と対話で補うグループレッスンになります。木版画好きの皆さんがお互いの作品から刺激を受け、作品づくりの世界を広げるきっかけにしていただければ幸いです。

Face-to-face meeting lessons are also conducted periodically. These are group lessons with demonstrations and conversations that make up for information that cannot be fully passed along in the online lesson and learning guide. It would be my pleasure if woodblock print lovers are stimulated by viewing each other’s artwork, and use this workshop as a chance to broaden their world of creating art.

これまでの取り組みHistory of Activities
水彩木版画教室
空中山荘の水彩木版画教室は少人数制で、水彩絵具を使った木版画の基本を生徒それぞれのペースに合わせて教えてきました。他にも道具や技法の講習・美術館や絵具工場の見学・教室展など、作品づくりの外側にも興味を持てるようなプログラムを企画しました。参加型ワークショップとして企画した教室展では、生徒の皆さんとミーティングを重ねながら一から展覧会を作りました。
Watercolor Woodblock Printmaking Class
At Kucyusansou, I have taught the basics of woodblock printmaking using watercolor in small group classes according to each pace of students. Accordingly, I have organized many programs, including giving lectures on tools and techniques, visited art museums and paint factories, and held students’ exhibitions, which may also interest students outside of creating artwork. The students’ exhibitions were organized as participatory workshops, in which students produced exhibitions from scratch upon holding meetings together.

空中山荘での教室以外にも、参加者が主体となるワークショップを数多く提案してきました。どのプログラムも手仕事から表現を生み出すことで、参加者がささやかにでもエンパワメント（力づけ）されるような内容を目指しました。
WORKSHOP
Apart from Kucyusansou, I have conducted various workshops in which the participants are the main constituents. In any program, I aim at making content for the empowerment of the participants through creating with expressive handwork.
木版画の複数性を利用したワークショップ
- グリーティングカードや作品集づくりなど、配って交換するのを楽しむ木版画を作りました。
- 摺り体験など、気軽に木版画を体験できるようにしました。
Workshop utilizing the plurality of woodblock print
- Woodblock prints were created for the enjoyment of sending and exchanging, such as making greeting cards, collections of artwork, etc.
- This workshop was prepared for the participants to experience woodblock printing freely.
自然素材に触れるワークショップ
- 土でクレヨンを作ったり、土絵具や芋版を使ったり、自然素材を身近に体感できるようにしました。
Workshop for feeling natural materials
- This workshop enabled the participants to feel natural materials closely, creating crayons and paints from soil and sweet potato stamps.
ことばを見つけるワークショップ
- 参加者同士のディスカッションやフィールドワークをもとにテーマを表すことばを探し出し、そのことばについての木版画を作りました。
Workshop for finding words
- Based on participant discussion and fieldwork, they looked for words that express the theme, and made woodblock prints based on the words in this workshop.
こどもワークショップ
- 空中山荘では5年間、絵画実験室というこども向けの教室を開いていました。絵画技法の基本を体感できるよう、また作品をゼロから完成させる力を養えるよう心がけました。
- 美術館でのこどもワークショップでは、展覧会の鑑賞と組み合わせ、木版画の工程を体験しながら理解するプログラムを提案しました。
Workshop for children
- Kucyusansou held a class for children called the "painting laboratory” for 5 years. I kept in mind the idea of helping children experience basic painting techniques, and develop the ability to complete piece of art from scratch.
- In the workshop for children held at art museums, I arranged programs to help children understand the woodblock printmaking process while experiencing it by combining the workshop with appreciating exhibitions.
海外でのワークショップ
- 日本の伝統技法として捉えられている水彩木版画を体験したいという依頼から、海外でのワークショップやデモンストレーションも行いました。
- フィリピン・山岳地方の学校では、身の回りの自然素材で作る木版画ワークショップを行いました。自然環境や言い伝えなど受け継がれてきた物事と、木版画の素朴な手法が融合するようなプログラムを提案しました。
Workshop abroad
- Upon requests to experience the watercolor woodblock print as a traditional Japanese technique, I conducted workshops and demonstrations abroad.
- I conducted a woodblock print workshop using surrounding natural materials at a school located in the mountainous region of the Philippines. I arranged programs that may unite the matters inherited, such as the natural environment, legends, and the primitive side of woodblock print techniques.
